From anger to action

Why do we protest?

  • We protest injustice.
  • We protest against those who seek to maintain the status quo
  • We protest to call for our politicians to lead
  • We protest to save our world, and for our children.
Movements have also marched for peace, compassion, and equality. The peace movement in the ’60s combined protests against war with a celebration of love. Pride parades may have started in protest, but they morphed into an inclusive annual celebration of LGBTQ+ culture. Labour Day marches celebrate workers and the role of unions in promoting fair labour practices.

Our challenge is to find a way to bring compassion back into how we tackle climate change and other global issues. Maybe we need to add new elements to our marches that help us all move from anger to action.

Here’s some ideas – feel free to adapt them!

Share our values

Our  common vision is a world that cares.
We care for our world. We care for each other. We care for ourselves and those around us.

If enough people, companies and governments care for the future of the planet and humanity, then we have a common bond and a strong foundation for leadership and  action.

Caring for each other and the world is what sets us apart from the deniers and opponents who care solely for their own interests.

Our goal is to have people, and our leaders, join us in our common commitment to a net-zero, resilient, and better future.

Help us

Ask leaders to help us.
We have all made a personal commitment to help stop climate change. We can’t do it alone. We need our governments and businesses to help us.

Don’t be afraid to ask for their help in making climate solutions easy, affordable, and desirable for everybody.
